How long did it take to build the town centre?
Ok people - can anyone take me how long it took to build the town centre?

1996 – or maybe even before, but then things looked to be happening
Allied London Properties (backed by Schroders) and Legal & General both submitted multimillion-pound proposals to rebuild the town centre.
The press commented.

Legal & General was proposing a 1.2 million sq ft shopping centre at the northern end of the town centre.
Allied London proposed a 650,000 sq ft scheme around Charles Square.
Legal & General had secured Marks & Spencer as an anchor tenant.
ALP had talked to Debenhams and House of Fraser.
2001 John Prescott said that both schemes were too big for Bracknell.
Reported on Getreading that a team of consultants are to prepare a fresh plan, supported by advice on viability and property issues, together with a retail study.

Some time goes by, and there is a recession and stuff.
People get worried, but we hung on in there, until:
2012 June - Planning permission for - Land Within Bracknell Town Centre Millennium Way Bracknell Berkshire Ref. No: 12/00476/OUT | Validated: Thu 07 Jun 2012 | Status: Approved (with Legal Agreement)
2014 Things had started to happen - Eventually we got to sort of start the building work, but something was not going quite right. Report from July 2014

2015 April - People start to get excited again - Construction teams are on the demolition site which used to be Broadway and Crossway in Bracknell town centre and have begun work to install 1,000 piles into the ground.
